Kidz And Sustainability
Waste management is a key factor in community-led sustainable practices. As such, our sustainability program initiatives encourage students to think sustainably, but act locally by taking ownership of the environmental issues impacting their communities. . Here, our in-house education sessions and waste reduction initiatives were created to teach young people strategies to minimize our waste footprint and transition away from single-use consumables such as aluminum.

Kids and sustainability
Sustainability is most often defined as meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Young people are key actors in raising awareness, promoting sustainable lifestyles, conserving nature, supporting renewable energy and adopting environmentally-friendly practices. Our Kids Can_Renew Program is designed to promote active learning about sustainability and recycling while being educational and enjoyable. We want young people to learn to love nature by exploring all of its wonders, and in the process be inspired to become stewards by promoting its preservation and conservation. More broadly, it is of vital importance to rethink the principles of our economic system and to ensure a speedy transition to one based on sustainability and a circular economy. Kids are thus mentored to create change in our community by being constantly aware, participating and applying simple recycling opportunities.

Defining Sustainability
Meeting our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs is the most common and widely accepted way of defining sustainability; but what does it entail? Within the waste hierarchy, there are six agreed-upon principles of sustainability: rethink, refuse, reduce, reuse, repair and recycle.
Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair And Recycle.
The 6 R’s of sustainability: rethink, refuse, reduce, reuse, repair, recycle are playing a very important role, allowing you to lead by example to spread awareness about environmental issues. They also help students to gain knowledge and understanding of sustainable development and the use of precious resources.
